Within easy reach of London, yet tucked away within 19 acres of peaceful Kent countryside, The Quaives is a collection of characterful cottages, secret gardens and winding pathways. Once home to Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, it still carries a little of her creative spirit.
Mornings begin on the mat in the cosy, underfloor-heated yoga studio. Between practices, wander through the grounds, follow the country lanes to Wickhambreaux Weir, then end the day sinking into the Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub beneath the stars.
TO SECURE YOUR SPACE WE REQUIRE A £350 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT

Postcards from Kent
This is the rhythm of the weekend rather than a rigid itinerary. Mornings on the mat. Afternoons to wander, create and unwind. Evenings together. With plenty of space for spontaneity in between.

Kind words from our guests
“I’ve just come back from the most incredible few days in the French Alps. Sophie and Josh went above and beyond to create such a thought-through retreat to the smallest of details. The yoga was the perfect mix of flows and stretching and the hikes had the most breathtaking views. The food was amazing too, you definitely won’t go hungry. I couldn’t recommend Radiant Waves enough. I have left feeling so energised and genuinely didn’t stop smiling the whole time, which is a testament to what Sophie and Josh have created. I wish I could go back and do it all again.”
Not at all, our retreat caters for all levels of yogi. No prior experience is needed.
It’s the British countryside in mid-November, so expect crisp days, chilly temperatures and a chance of rain. Pack warm layers and waterproofs, and we’ll be ready to embrace whatever the weather brings.
We’ll adapt our plans as we go, enjoying the contrast between wrapping up for winter walks in the fresh country air and returning to The Quaives for nourishing food, restorative movement, a soak in the hot tub and time beside the fire. For us, the winter weather is all part of the experience: embracing the elements and returning rosy-cheeked to somewhere warm and cosy.
Absolutely. Most of our guests do! You’re welcome to book a shared room if you’d like to meet new people, or a private room if you prefer your own space.
Check-in is from 4pm on Friday, and the retreat finishes at 3pm on Sunday. We’ll share the full weekend schedule and recommended travel times with you closer to the retreat.
Our mornings will begin with warm, fluid practices designed to awaken the body and gently build energy for the day ahead. After a nourishing breakfast, we’ll wrap up warm and head into the crisp winter air for countryside walks, with an optional cold-water dip for anyone feeling brave.
Active mornings will give way to slower, more thoughtful afternoons. Read beside the fire, paint, enjoy the hot tub, have a chat or simply take some time for yourself. Everything is optional, and there will be plenty of space to follow your own rhythm.
As evening draws in, we’ll return to the studio for restorative movement and breathwork before gathering around the table for a shared meal. Expect warming food, meaningful conversations, a cosy movie night and time spent connecting with an amazing group of people.
This retreat is for anyone craving a little breathing room before the Christmas festivities begin. Perhaps the year has felt full, life has been moving quickly or you simply want to treat yourself to a weekend away. This is your chance to step out of the fast lane and enjoy a carefully curated balance of movement, fresh air, nourishing food, meaningful connection and time beside the fire.
Come alone, bring a friend or escape with your partner. You do not need to be an experienced yogi, a seasoned cold-water swimmer or naturally good at slowing down. Everything is optional, and all movement practices will be accessible to different levels of experience. More than anything, this is a weekend for anyone ready to switch off, reconnect and return home feeling restored.
“Smile, breathe and go slowly.”
